Under the Ship Dealer menu, you can purchase one of five different ships, with a few variants. After destroying some outlaws attacking them, you can dock at the Nephtys Plains Station and get a new ship. During the Spares & Scrap mission, you’ll meet G&B Officer Shaw at the Nephtys Plains site. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask in the comments below.īefore you can get a new ship in Everspace 2, you’ll need to make some progress in the story. This guide explains how to get new ships, where to find them, and how many are in the game. There should be more inherent differences in strength between classes based on their role in battle, and upgrading a to different tier should a more significant improvement in ship design and flying experience, for the sandbox gameplay to offer more long-lasting enjoyment. If you’ve started playing Everspace 2 and you’re not sure how to get new ships, you’re in the right place. The recent tier 2 ships are even more disappointing. Others here are right that ships are like classes that offer different combat playstyles, but a hulking gunship being as strong and as expensive as a puny scout does not really make sense. It is one of the major failings of this game as a sandbox space game. from Eagle to an Adder, or between tiers e.g. Ships do not provide any sense of "upgrade" that you may be used to from other space sims like Freelancer or Elite - be it upgrading within the same tier e.g. Not really any reason to move to any of them, unless it turns out in practice they play very differently. Originally posted by gruevy:I just got to the first place I can buy new ships, and aside from the upgrade of the one you start with, they all seem to be pretty horizontal in terms of stats. i personally am not using the heavies or light ships because they only have some models and are not as fleshed out as the medium ships. They all have their strengths and weaknesses and geting a new one is going to take some getting used to. The bomber specializes in secondaries since they use energy instead of amunition.and it has the good old arc 9000 as the ultimate which is great for groups of enemies and single targets. the gunships special is arsinel which has those 4 weapon mounts) The gunship has 4 weapon mounts for MOAR DAKKA and an ultimate that activates the turret on the top of the ship for EVEN MOAR DAKKA (the turret can be modifed by different actives as well. The scouts special shadow strike makes it extremely powerfull at a range with sniper weapons. if its an unintended side effect might as well make it a feature?) The vanguards time extenter slows down time and gives you more time to react (a far stretch from everspace classics time extender device though.ironically it operates like the bugged version of the time extender in everspace classic. relying in high shield, weaker hull, and more energy as well as being a medium ship, its a good starting point. Sentinels are ballanced with their ultimate static overload which arcs lightening doing damage to all targets near the target youre shooting at. but its not that great for groups of targets Weapon overdrive on the interceptors however is great for taking on targets one at a time. I personally love strikers because of the quantum tether that shreds groups of enemies.though it is a rather situational ultimate and does no good in a solo fight. If you like maneuverability check out the scout or vanguard. If you like dealing damage as a damage tank try out the bomber or the gunship. If you like fighting, i would reccomend trying out a striker or an interceptor. They all have different spcials as well that alter the way each ship can be played.Īnd htey have what i think are actives that can vary from ship to ship within the same subclass. They all have different ultimates which greately change how you can handle a dire situation. At the moment, there are 2 lights, 3 mediums, and 2 heavies
